Bird of Paradise

Bird of Paradise

This is a plant that likes heat but don't like too strong direct sun. Now when our palm trees is bigger they give just enough shade for the bushes under them and the bird of paradise just loves it. To make it bloom this lovely you have to water it pretty much and give it extra nutrients a couple of times a year.

If you have a young plant that doesn't blooms don't worry, it doesn't bloom until its around 4 years.

I have seen this plant in California thriving and growing so many plants together that it looked like a Bird of Paradise hedge.

I have never cover up these plants during winter time and so far they haven't taken any damage from the cold. So far only the strong direct sun seams to be the problem.
